Awards Of Excellence 2022

Dear Visitors, welcome to our Awards Page.

This year's Orthodox Arts Festival's Excellence Certificates 2022 will be given to all the artists who have shown exceptional skill and piety. We think that great artists exist in many fields, therefore we invite all artists of all ages and career paths to contribute work, whether they are students, graduates, full-time or part-time, amateurs or professionals.

**This year, voting will take place online and will be accessible to the general public through our specially designed Voting Forms.
As a result, everyone is eligible to vote.
Additionally, we will have a selected Jury Vote, which will add five additional votes for each selection made by a Jury member.

Our Voting Panel will mark all the Votes entered for each award and present the results.

The highest-scoring entry in each category will be selected for the award **(Please note that it isn't certain that all categories will get an award since certain categories might have only a few competitors.)

Each Award will be followed by an Award Certificate.

Recipients of Fine Art & Iconography Awards will be invited to showcase their works exclusively online, where Chanters,  Authors & Poets, Filmmakers will receive free of charge promotion of their work online for a year.

This year, the following categories are competing for Awards:

  1. Visual Arts

  2. Church Music & Chanting

  3. Music

  4. Literature

  5. Film

  6. Theatre

***Please also note that our Voting panel will have a presentation of their works in the Festival, but they will not be competing.

The winners will be announced online approximately one to two week after the event has officially ended.

For further information contact us.

**PS: We gave an inner battle in our decision to offer Awards of Excellence to reward Orthodox Artists for all their efforts to bring forth works of beauty and delight for the Glory of God.
We want to make it clear that our purpose isn't to encourage vanity in them but instead to support their efforts in any way we can.
After all, the best artist is not the one who has a good technique but a soul devoted to God.
We are not in competition against each other but instead against our own limitations and weaknesses. We choose to believe that those awards, among all other Grace we all generously receive every day, are also coming from God through each one of us.

Dear Visitors, we are delighted to provide you

with the names of the Orthodox Arts Festival Awards of Excellence Winners 2021

in each competing category.

Tamara Wilson is a poet, academic and Honorary Research Fellow. Alongside the Christian heritage of modern day Turkey, she is interested in the exploration of identity and memory through hybrid literary and non-literary forms. Currently, she is working on the adaptation of her verse novel into a stage production.

Her forthcoming book which seeks to bring to pubic consciousness the subjugated legacy of the Armenian and Greek Genocides. Incorporating archival documentation, testimonies, newspaper clippings, photographs and family stories, the text aims to create historical awareness and compassionate witnessing in its readership while addressing the gaps and manipulations in politicized historical narratives.
