20 Years Later. Lay Sisterhood of St Elisabeth Convent (Russian Language with English subtitles)
It is a convent that is open to the world and pursues an active social ministry in hospitals and long-term care institutions, in education, among bed-ridden patients, the disadvantaged and the poor.
St Elisabeth Convent was founded in Minsk, Belarus, in 1999. The Convent is named after the Holy Martyr Elisabeth Romanov, and it draws its inspiration from the good works of Saint Martha and Maria Convent, which she established during her life.
For 20 years Sisters of mercy have been coming to St Elisabeth Convent. Our sisters are of different ages and from various backgrounds. They are teachers, architects, musicians and health workers. Coming to the Sisterhood was a life-changing moment for all of them. Every sister has a story to tell. The roads that they had to walk are different from one another. But God unites them with a common desire to serve their neighbour, making them closer to our heavenly patron, St Elisabeth.
