Jadwiga Kowalska

Artist Summary

Jadwiga is a Roman-Catholic Iconographer from Częstochowa in Poland.
She wrote about her art and development. "...I love art but the beauty of icons I discovered not so long ago.
In 2011, I joined art workshops led by Fr Jacek Wróbel SJ, and there I learned about egg tempera technique and icon painting.
Since that time, I have been painting a lot and trying to improve my skills learning from great contemporary Masters as well as by exploring the theological message of icons. I also paint sacral paintings according to gothic and renaissance Masters and do pictures in repujado technique (metal).
I had a few individual exhibitions in my city and participated in many collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
My works can be found in many private collections.
I am a member of The Jerzy Duda-Gracz Association of Artists in Częstochowa.
